Ashley Gorley, born on April 29, 1977, in Danville, Kentucky, has become one of Nashville’s most influential songwriters. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Belmont University in 1999 with a Music Business degree. His career began in the early 2000s, leading to over 83 No. 1 radio singles and nearly 500 recorded songs by diverse artists including Morgan Wallen, Post Malone, Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini, Bon Jovi, and Weezer.
In 2011, Gorley established his own publishing and artist development company, Tape Room Music. This venture has supported writers in achieving over 50 No. 1 songs, including significant hits like 2018’s ASCAP Country Song of the Year, “Body Like A Back Road,” and the 10-week Country Airplay chart-topper “World On Fire.” Throughout his career, Gorley has been a recipient of numerous accolades, including NSAI’s Songwriter of the Decade for 2010–2019 and multiple ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year awards. His work has also received GRAMMY nominations, such as “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen, which held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Hot 100 Song for 16 weeks in 2023.
