Afie Jurvanen, known by his stage name Bahamas, is a distinguished Canadian musician renowned for his soulful sound and impactful songwriting. He began his musical journey by teaching himself guitar and quickly garnered attention for his unique blend of folk and rock influences. His debut album, “Pink Strat,” released in 2009, showcased his talent and earned him a nomination for the Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year – Solo in 2010, marking the start of a promising career.

Bahamas continued to build on his success with the release of his second album, “Barchords,” in 2012, which received a nomination for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards. His songwriting prowess was further recognized with nominations for his compelling tracks “Be My Witness,” “Caught Me Thinking,” and “Lost in the Light.” The album solidified Bahamas’ reputation as a significant voice in the Canadian music scene.

In 2014, Jurvanen released “Bahamas Is Afie,” which not only topped Q’s Top 20 Albums of 2014 but also won him the Juno Awards for both Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year in 2015. His subsequent albums, “Earthtones” (2018) and “Sad Hunk” (2020), continued to receive critical acclaim, with “Sad Hunk” winning the Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year in 2021.

Bahamas has toured extensively, sharing the stage with prominent artists such as Jack Johnson and Robert Plant, and captivating audiences with his engaging performances. His most recent album, “Bootcut,” released in September 2023, further showcases his evolution as an artist. With a growing discography and a dedicated fanbase, Bahamas remains a vital force in contemporary music, inviting clients to experience his artistry firsthand.
