Kenny Dope and Global Roots join the lineup for Gilles Peterson's We Out Here festival | News | DJ | MN2S

We Out Here is back in 2020 and Kenny Dope is headlining, while Thris Tian’s Global Roots hosts the Sunday takeover at the forest stage.

Inaugurated last year with a first edition that saw Kojey Radical, Nubya Garcia, Tirzah, Josey Rebelle and Sons of Kemet top the billing, We Out Here is a festival conceived and curated by DJ and tastemaker extraordinaire Gilles Peterson. The festival fuses jazz, soul, funk, R&B, hip-hop and afrobeat with a selection of top-tier DJs, catering for dance music fans with an eclectic taste that spans beyond the club. This diverse event is taking place in Abbots Ripton, Cambridgeshire, from 20th – 23rd August 2020.

As part of his 30 Years of Kenny Dope tour, Kenny is topping a DJ line-up alongside names such as Floating Points, Joy Orbison, Josey Rebelle and Jayda G. This legendary DJ will be playing a special set alongside Gilles Peterson and UNKLE’s James Lavelle. Also on this year’s billing is Thris Tian, Worldwide FM associate and the man behind Global Roots, who will be hosting a Sunday takeover of the forest stage alongside as-yet-unannounced acts drawn from music scenes all over the globe.

“I really wanted to bring to the UK a festival that celebrates the elements of UK club culture, and the community that surrounds it, that I have been lucky enough to be a part of over the years.”
