Bryan Olesen

Bryan Olesen is a seasoned musician and vocalist, co-founder of the Christian rock band VOTA (previously Casting Pearls) and former guitarist for Newsboys, who also captivated audiences as a contestant on NBC’s ‘The Voice.’ After captivating audiences on Season 25 of NBC’s ‘The Voice’ in 2024, Bryan Olesen showcased his formidable vocal talent and stage presence, earning immediate chair turns from coaches Reba McEntire, John Legend, and Dan + Shay. This national exposure built upon a foundational career that began in 1997 when Olesen co-founded the Christian rock band Casting Pearls. The band released their debut album, ‘Really Great Sinners,’ in 2000, followed by their major label debut, ‘Casting Pearls,’ in 2004. Concurrent with his work in Casting Pearls, Olesen served as lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the acclaimed Christian rock band Newsboys from 2003 until 2006, broadening his industry footprint.

Beyond musical achievements, Olesen and VOTA demonstrated a strong commitment to social impact through their work. In 2013, they partnered with non-profit organization Tiny Hands International for their album ‘Love Found Me,’ contributing to efforts to combat human trafficking in India and Nepal. They continued this philanthropic focus with their 2016 album, ‘Fearless,’ which supported 300 children in Panali, Nicaragua, in partnership with Food for the Hungry. By 2018, VOTA evolved into a dynamic two-piece band, with Olesen taking on lead vocals, guitar, and bass duties alongside drummer John Wooten.
