Caloncho

Caloncho, born Óscar Alfonso Castro, is a Mexican musician and singer known for his optimistic indie pop, reggae, and rock steady pop sound, along with his dedication to environmental and social causes. After releasing his second EP, ‘Fruta,’ in September 2013, Caloncho garnered widespread critical acclaim, earning a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album in 2014. That same year, he also received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. His distinct approach on ‘Fruta’ showcased experimentation with organic sounds and non-musical objects, blending tropical rhythms with Mexican folk influences.

Currently, Caloncho is engaged in creating new music that incorporates more societal and human emotional intelligence themes, while persistently spreading positive messages and engaging in environmental advocacy. His touring schedule includes a significant US tour, which commenced in 2025, alongside Daniel, Me Estás Matando, further expanding his reach and dedicated fanbase.
