Cassadee Pope

Cassadee Pope has spent the 2020s expanding her reach beyond music, starring as Rose in the Off-Broadway hit Titanique and headlining Rolling Thunder, which closed September 7, 2025. In 2024, she joined Marianas Trench on The Force of Nature Tour, keeping a busy touring calendar that has spanned pop punk stages and country arenas alike.

Born August 28, 1989, Pope got her start at Wellington High School in Florida, where she formed the band Blake with Mike Gentile before the pair founded pop punk group Hey Monday in 2008. As lead vocalist and songwriter, she wrote two songs and co-wrote the other nine on the band’s debut album Hold on Tight, released in October 2008, and appeared in Fall Out Boy’s video for “America’s Suitehearts.” After two EPs and a 2010 Warped Tour run, Hey Monday went on hiatus in December 2011.

Pope launched her solo career in early 2012 with a self-titled EP, then auditioned for season 3 of The Voice, where all four coaches vied for her and she chose Blake Shelton. Her rendition of “Over You” knocked Psy’s “Gangnam Style” off the top of the iTunes chart, and in December 2012 she became the show’s first female winner. Her 2013 country debut Frame by Frame hit No. 1 on Top Country Albums with 43,000 first-week copies and cracked the Billboard 200’s top 10.

Her 2016 duet with Chris Young, “Think of You,” reached No. 1 on Country Airplay, earned an RIAA Platinum certification with 513,000 copies sold, and picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. In 2020, she co-wrote and co-produced all eight tracks on her EP Rise and Shine, firsts in her solo career.
