Chingy rose from the St. Louis hip-hop scene to achieve global recognition and success in music and entrepreneurship. After touring as an opening act for fellow artist Nelly in 2002, Chingy signed with Ludacris’s Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP) label, in a joint venture with Capitol Records, the same year. His debut album, Jackpot, released on July 15, 2003, achieved immediate commercial success, propelled by the hit single ‘Right Thurr,’ which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Chingy continues to perform, maintaining his distinct sound and creative autonomy, and engaging with his audience across various platforms.
