Christopher Parkening is a celebrated concert guitarist with over 40 years of experience in the classical music scene. He has recorded more than 20 albums with prestigious labels such as EMI/Capitol Records and Sony, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to the art. His remarkable contributions to music have earned him two Grammy® Award nominations and the opportunity to perform with every major orchestra in the United States, solidifying his reputation as one of the leading classical guitarists of his generation.

Parkening’s journey began at the age of 11 when he was inspired by his cousin, Jack Marshall, to pursue classical guitar. His commitment to mastering the instrument led him to study under the legendary Andrés Segovia, who recognized his potential and encouraged him to work diligently. By the age of 19, Parkening had signed with Capitol Records and was instrumental in establishing the guitar department at the University of Southern California, where he shared his expertise with aspiring musicians.

Despite achieving significant success, Parkening faced challenges with the demanding nature of touring and performing. At 30, he made the bold decision to retire from music to pursue his dream of owning a ranch in Montana. However, after four years of living what he thought was the ideal life, he realized that he craved the fulfillment that music had once provided.

This realization prompted Parkening to return to the concert stage with a renewed sense of purpose.
