Citizen is an acclaimed American rock band that emerged from Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio in 2009. Formed by Mat Kerekes, the band quickly established itself within the music scene, showcasing a unique blend of melodic hardcore and emo influences. Their early releases, including the EP “Young States” and a split EP with Turnover, marked their growth and maturity as artists, leading to a significant signing with Run For Cover Records in 2012. Most recently, Citizen celebrated the ten-year anniversary of their debut with a North American tour and the release of their fifth studio album, “Calling the Dogs,” in October 2023.
