Brutus achieved international breakthrough in 2017 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Burst,’ leading to a significant worldwide signing with Sargent House. Following its release, ‘Burst’ received notable recognition and praise from influential musicians, including Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Riley Breckenridge of Thrice, and Lars Ulrich of Metallica, who featured their single ‘Drive’ on his Apple Music radio show. The Belgian rock trio, consisting of Stefanie Mannaerts on vocals and drums, Stijn Vanhoegaerden on guitar, and Peter Mulders on bass, formed in Leuven in 2013. They rapidly established their presence in the Belgian music scene, performing at Pukkelpop, Rock Herk, and Dour Festival between 2014 and 2015, and releasing a trilogy of two-song EPs in 2015.
The band subsequently maintained a rigorous touring schedule in 2023, solidifying their reputation as a dynamic and compelling live act. Their festival appearances included major European and UK events such as Roadburn Festival, Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Download Festival, Copenhell, Pinkpop Festival, 2000 Trees, and ArcTanGent Festival. Demonstrating their continued artistic output, Brutus released the single ‘Love Won’t Hide The Ugliness’ in 2023, followed by ‘The Deadly Rhythm’ and ‘Paradise’ in 2024, maintaining their momentum and captivating global audiences.
