Citizen Soldier

Citizen Soldier is an American rock band from Salt Lake City, Utah, formed in 2016. The band originated in a psychiatric hospital, where frontman Jake Segura wrote the lyrics for “Let It Burn.” After their formation, the band quickly established a focus on mental health advocacy through their music, stating their mission is to combat stigma and provide a “group therapy dynamic.” The band’s name, Citizen Soldier, reflects their goal to personify internal struggles and highlight the experiences of individuals who feel overlooked.

Since releasing their first single in 2017, Citizen Soldier has released multiple EPs and albums. Their discography includes notable albums like *Relentless* (2019), *Down the Rabbit Hole* (2020), and the two-part *This Is Your Sign Part I* (2021) and *This Is Your Sign Part II* (2022). In 2022, they released *Scarecrow*, followed by *ICU* in 2023 and *Icarus* in 2024. The band often releases album tracks as singles prior to the full album release, a consistent approach throughout their career.

Citizen Soldier has expanded their reach through touring and collaborations. In 2023, they toured North America and Canada with the band Smash Into Pieces, also recording an acoustic version of “Six Feet Under” with them. Looking ahead, Citizen Soldier has announced the album *Family Heirlooms* for November 2025 and *Secret Songs – Vol. 1* for 2026. They are scheduled to embark on several tours, including “The HeartSupport Tour” in 2025, which partners with HeartSupport to provide mental health support to fans.
