Clews

Clews is an Australian indie pop-rock duo consisting of sisters Lily and Grace Richardson, originally from Mollymook and now based in Sydney. The sisters were introduced to music at a young age, with their father and uncle having toured the United States in the 1990s and 2000s as part of the band Brother. Lily began writing songs at 15, fostering a foundation for their future musical endeavors. Their early exposure to music and life on the road shaped their artistic development, contributing to their unique sound. The duo is currently signed with Wonderlick Entertainment.

Clews released their debut single “Museum” on February 23, 2018, which achieved full rotation on triple j, an Australian national youth broadcaster. This initial success was followed by additional singles, expanding their discography. The sisters are known for their vocal harmonies and songwriting, which has been described as creating “beautifully crafted poems.” Throughout their career, Clews has supported various notable artists, including Portugal. The Man, Ocean Alley, Middle Kids, and Albert Hammond Jr., performing on significant stages.

In 2021, Clews released their EP, *Loveluck Omens*, further establishing their presence in the indie-rock scene. That same year, they launched their podcast, “Love Clews,” where they discuss topics related to love, sex, dating, and relationships with guests. Their career progression highlights a consistent release of music and engagement with their audience through different media, showcasing their multifaceted approach to their artistic careers.
