Cody Simpson has transitioned from a global pop sensation to a competitive swimmer and now an independent artist and entrepreneur, advocating for environmental causes along the way. After gaining rapid recognition by uploading song covers to YouTube in 2009, Cody Simpson quickly secured a record deal with Atlantic Records, leading to his relocation to Los Angeles. His debut single ‘iYiYi’ featuring Flo Rida was released in 2010, followed by the EP ‘4 U’ (2010) and full-length albums ‘Paradise’ (2012) and ‘Surfers Paradise’ (2013), the latter of which debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200. Simpson appeared on Billboard’s 21 Under 21 List for four consecutive years and garnered over 1 million mentions on Twitter for his 2014 single ‘Home to Mama’ with Justin Bieber.
He toured extensively, including co-headlining the ‘Waiting 4U Tour’ with Greyson Chance in 2011 and supporting Justin Bieber on his ‘Believe Tour’ in 2013. In 2014, he competed on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ finishing in ninth place. After parting ways with Atlantic Records, Simpson established his independent label, Coast House, releasing the album ‘Free’ in 2015. In 2017, he formed the band Cody Simpson and the Tide, releasing the EP ‘Wave One,’ which integrated pop, rock, and surf-rock with environmental themes.
He launched his sustainable clothing line, Prince Neptune: The Label, in 2022, and his energy nutrition drink line, Dr.Hydrate, in 2024, showcasing his continued evolution across multiple industries.
