Courtney Marie Andrews

Courtney Marie Andrews, born on November 7, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona, began her musical journey early, playing guitar and writing songs at 13 and performing by 15. Her career gained significant momentum between 2010 and 2011, when she served as an auxiliary member of the band Jimmy Eat World. During this period, she contributed backing vocals to five songs on their 2010 studio album, “Invented,” and toured with them as a keyboardist and backing vocalist. In 2011, Andrews moved to Seattle, Washington, where she joined Damien Jurado’s band as an electric guitarist, further honing her skills and experience.

Her breakthrough as a solo artist came with the release of her fifth studio album, “Honest Life,” in 2016. This album was critically acclaimed, reaching No. 1 on the Official UK Americana Chart and the Independent Album Breakers Chart upon its UK and European release in 2017. “Rolling Stone” recognized “Honest Life” as one of the Top 40 country albums of 2016 and named Andrews one of ten new country artists to watch. Her subsequent album, “May Your Kindness Remain,” released in 2018, continued to garner accolades, including a No. 1 placement on the Euro Americana Chart and the UK Americana Albums Charts. Andrews received the “International Artist of the Year” award at the UK Americana Awards in February 2018 and was nominated for “Emerging Artist of the Year” by the Americana Music Association in the United States.

Andrews’ seventh studio album, “Old Flowers,” released in 2020, received a nomination for Best Americana Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Her debut poetry collection, “Old Monarch,” was published in 2021 by Andrews McMeel Publishing. In October 2022, she released her eighth studio album, “Loose Future,” which was written during the COVID-19 pandemic and following the end of a long-term relationship. The album, praised for its bright and free sound, was developed in partnership with producer Sam Evian and further expanded her sonic palette. Her extensive discography includes albums such as “Urban Myths” (2008), “Painter’s Hands and a Seventh Son” (2009), “For One I Knew” (2010), “No One’s Slate Is Clean” (2011), and “On My Page” (2013).
