About

Dadju Alimasi Nsungula, born on May 2, 1991, in Melun, Île-de-France, France, comes from a musical family. His father, Djuna Djanana, was a singer for Papa Wemba’s group Viva la Musica, and his half-brother is the rapper Gims. Dadju began his musical journey performing with his brother and the group Sexion d’Assaut, and later as part of the duo The Shin Sekaï with Abou Tall from 2012 to 2016. During this period, signed to the Wati B label, The Shin Sekaï released mixtapes such as “The Shin Sekaï Vol. I” (2013) and “Volume II” (2014), culminating in their album “Indéfini” in 2016.

His solo career commenced in 2017 with the release of his debut album, “Gentleman 2.0.” This album achieved significant success, earning a diamond record and featuring the hit song “Jaloux.” In recognition of his burgeoning talent, Dadju was elected “French newcomer of the Year” at the NRJ Music Awards in 2018. Following this, he released a two-part album, “Poison” and “Antidote,” in 2019, which included the popular track “Compliqué.” The re-release of this album obtained triple platinum certification by 2020. In 2021, Dadju participated in the Amazon Prime Video show “Celebrity Hunted: Chasse à l’homme” alongside his brother Darcy, expanding his public profile beyond music.

Dadju’s career has been marked by consistent artistic output and commercial success. His albums such as “Gentleman 2.0” (2017), “Poison” (2019), and “Cullinan” (2022) have consistently topped the French charts. He has also engaged in charitable efforts, performing at the sold-out benefit concert “Solidarité Congo” at the Accor Arena in April 2025. This event, featuring 30 artists, raised funds for children affected by the M23 insurgency in eastern DRC, with proceeds directed to his Give Back Charity. This demonstrates a commitment to social causes in addition to his musical endeavors.
