Joyce Cissé, known professionally as FloweroVlove, was born in London, England, on February 18, 2005. Raised by Ivorian parents, she grew up in South London and Essex. Her musical journey began at a young age, with early memories of writing song ideas. However, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 that she decided to pursue music professionally. At 15, she released her debut single “Kiss & Chase,” followed by “Unseen Miracles” and “Fat Wave” later that year. Her debut EP, “Think Flower,” released in May 2021, garnered significant attention, leading to her signing with PME Entertainment. The EP, with its nature-inspired themes, reflects her care for the planet and humanity.
Building on her initial success, FloweroVlove released the trap-flavored single “Malibu” in August 2021, which achieved over 3 million streams. This was followed by the psychedelic pop track “Saturday Yawning” in December. In 2022, she continued to release singles such as “I Love This Song,” “Will We Ever Get This Right,” and “Hannah Montana.” The song “I Love This Song” was featured in Hailey Bieber’s skincare line Rhode launch campaign, and its music video received a nomination for Best Pop Video Newcomer at the 2022 UK Music Video Awards. Her second EP, “A Mosh Pit in the Clouds,” was released in November 2022, featuring contributions from various producers and songwriters.
FloweroVlove’s career advanced significantly in 2023. She had her first headline dates and performed at prominent festivals including Primavera Sound, TRNSMT, Latitude Festival, Standon Calling, Boardmasters Festival, and Pukkelpop. On her 18th birthday, she signed with Capitol Records, marking a major turning point. Her 2023 singles “Love You,” “Coffee Shop,” “Next Best Exit,” and “A Girl Like Me” further expanded her reach. “Love You” was included on the soundtrack for the third season of the Netflix series “Heartstopper,” and “A Girl Like Me” gained viral popularity for its queer-inclusive bridge. In 2024, she made her debut at the Glastonbury Music Festival on the Park Stage and released her third EP, “Ache in My Tooth,” through Capitol Records, featuring singles like “breaking news” and “erase u.” This EP explores themes of love and includes collaborations with Skyler Stonestreet and Amy Allen.
