Dads In The Park

Dads In The Park officially formed in 2019, with the release of their song ‘Lullaby’ on YouTube. This track, initially created by Ahmad Ashik and Ishmam Selim Chowdhury in 2017, gained significant traction after Tajwar Ul Islam contributed a guitar part. The band quickly garnered an unexpected level of popularity, with ‘Lullaby’ surpassing 100,000 views in a short period. This initial success led the duo to prioritize quality over rapid releases, focusing on maintaining a high standard for their subsequent work.

The core members, Ishmam Selim Chowdhury (lyricist and frontman) and Tajwar Ul Islam, met at BRAC University in 2014. Their shared musical interests led to numerous jamming sessions and song covers before they decided to compose original music. The band’s name, ‘Dads in The Park,’ reflects their perspective: Ishmam and Tajwar are the ‘dads,’ their songs are their ‘children,’ and the global stage is their ‘park,’ bringing them satisfaction when their music reaches a wide audience. Their discography includes notable songs such as ‘Pareidolia,’ ‘Afeenolove,’ ‘Remembrance,’ and ‘Running on Empty,’ released in November 2021. Their music predominantly features English lyrics that explore human relationships, vulnerabilities, and themes of love.

Dads In The Park aims to transcend geographical boundaries with their English compositions, seeking to connect with a broader international audience rather than limit themselves to regional listeners. They believe Bangladeshi indie bands possess the talent to compete globally and strive to create a distinct sound signature within the evolving landscape of indie music. The band recently performed in Jakarta, Indonesia at the Hammersonic Festival and has also made their live show debut in Australia. They actively seek brand collaborations and have engaged in crowdfunding to support their international performances.
