Danielle Nicole is a GRAMMY-nominated and multi-Blues Music Award-winning artist, known for her powerful vocals and bass guitar prowess in the blues and soul genres. After earning widespread acclaim as a key member of Trampled Under Foot, where the band’s album ‘Badlands’ won ‘Contemporary Blues Album of the Year’ at the 2014 Blues Music Awards, Danielle Nicole also received the ‘Best Instrumentalist Bass’ award at the same ceremony. Nicole launched her solo career with her self-titled debut EP on March 10, 2015, via Concord Records, featuring collaborations with Grammy-winning producer and guitarist Anders Osborne, Galactic’s co-founding drummer Stanton Moore, and keyboardist Mike Sedovic. Her full-length debut album, ‘Wolf Den,’ followed in September 2015, achieving significant success by reaching number 2 on the Billboard Top Blues Albums chart.
The album’s critical reception continued throughout the year, with Rock & Blues Muse Magazine acknowledging it as a Top Album of 2024 in December. Further solidifying her standing, Nicole won the Blues Foundation Music Award for Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist on May 9, 2024, and was named Bass Guitarist of the Year by Blues Blast Magazine in September 2024. Maintaining an active presence in the blues music landscape, she continues to tour extensively across the United States and Europe, and has earned nominations for both Instrumentalist Vocals and Contemporary Blues Female Artist from the Blues Foundation Music Awards for 2025.
