Daughter’s debut album, ‘If You Leave,’ released in March 2013, made a significant impact, charting at number 16 in the UK and earning the Independent Album of the Year award at the 2013 AIM Independent Music Awards. Formed in 2010, the English indie-folk trio, comprising Elena Tonra (vocals, guitar, bass, piano), Igor Haefeli (guitar), and Remi Aguilella (drums), began collaborating during a songwriting course at London’s Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. Their self-released debut EP, ‘His Young Heart,’ on April 20, 2011, quickly gained attention. This was followed by ‘The Wild Youth’ EP, released October 2, 2011, via Communion Records, which garnered critical praise and secured an invitation for a BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale Session, leading to their signing with the acclaimed UK label 4AD in 2012.
