Dennis Lloyd established himself as an internationally charting artist and multi-instrumentalist after dedicating a transformative year in Bangkok, Thailand in late 2015, where he composed 35 songs that formed the foundation of his distinctive sound. This intensive period allowed him to integrate the trumpet into his compositions and refine his unique blend of R&B, hip-hop, and singer-songwriter styles. Following this creative immersion, Lloyd began releasing music, including singles ‘Playa (Say That)’ in mid-2015, ‘Snow White’ later that year, and ‘Demons,’ ‘Acts & Results,’ and ‘Think About It’ in 2016. His pivotal breakthrough came with the release of ‘Nevermind’ in late 2016, which quickly gained global traction on Spotify, peaking at number 4 on the Global Viral chart and amassing over 200 million streams.
The single charted in numerous countries, solidifying his international presence. The success of ‘Nevermind’ led to a performance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ in July 2018, and the track was notably featured in a 2019 commercial for the new BMW 3 Series. Lloyd continued to build momentum, performing ‘Leftovers’ for the Colors YouTube channel in June 2017. He then embarked on the MTFKR Tour, which took him across Europe and North America starting in May 2018.
This period culminated in the release of his album ‘Some Days’ on July 2, 2021, which included the notable collaboration ‘Young Right Now’ with Robin Schulz later that year. Most recently, Dennis Lloyd released the single ‘Berlin’ in 2022, continuing to explore his genre-less artistic vision. With an upcoming release of ‘Mad World’ slated for 2025, Lloyd consistently prioritizes his primary motivation of music itself over commercial metrics, reinforcing his reputation as a compelling and authentic voice in the global music landscape.
