Dokken

Formed in Los Angeles in 1978, American metal band Dokken quickly established its presence in the vibrant local club scene and embarked on early tours of Germany. The band’s debut single, ‘Hard Rock Woman’ b/w ‘Broken Heart,’ was released in 1979. Solidifying its classic lineup with Don Dokken on vocals, George Lynch on guitar, Mick Brown on drums, and Juan Croucier (later Jeff Pilson) on bass, Dokken secured a deal with Carrere Records, leading to the release of their debut album, Breaking the Chains, in 1981. This initial success laid the groundwork for their rapid rise to prominence.

The classic lineup briefly reunited for a series of shows in Japan and the US in 2016, which also saw the release of the new track ‘It’s Just Another Day,’ further documented by the 2018 live album Return to the East Live (2016). In 2020, Dokken released The Lost Songs: 1978-1981, offering fans a collection of early recordings. This was followed by The Elektra Albums 1983-1987, an album collection package released in 2023, celebrating their most impactful era. Most recently, Dokken unveiled their twelfth studio album, Heaven Comes Down, in October 2023, marking their continued creative output and enduring presence in the metal music scene.
