Drippin, initially known as Woollim Rookies and W Project 4, is a South Korean boy group formed by Woollim Entertainment. The group currently consists of six members: Hyeop, Yunseong, Changuk, Dongyun, Minseo, and Junho. Six of these members were initially introduced to the public through the competition reality show “Produce X 101.” Cha Jun-ho, prominently, achieved ninth place on the show, which led to his inclusion in the project group X1. The remaining members, along with a trainee who later joined Blank2y, released the single “1M1S” as W Project 4, which charted at number 81 on Billboard’s K-pop Hot 100.
The group officially debuted on October 28, 2020, with their first extended play (EP) “Boyager.” This debut was preceded by a reality program, “We are Drippin,” which documented their journey leading up to their official launch. Following their debut, Drippin released their second EP, “A Better Tomorrow,” on March 16, 2021, featuring the lead single “Young Blood.” They continued their musical output with their first single album, “Free Pass,” released on June 29, 2021. In November 2021, they issued the promotional single “Vertigo” through Universe Music, expanding their reach within the mobile application platform, Universe.
The period from 2022 to 2023 marked the “Villain” trilogy, signifying a distinctive phase in their career. This commenced with the release of their third EP, “Villain,” on January 17, 2022. The group also made their Japanese debut on May 18, 2022, with the single “So Good.” Continuing the “Villain” series, their second single album, “Villain: Zero,” was released on June 15, 2022, followed by their first studio album, “Villain: The End,” on November 15, 2022. Alex, a former member, temporarily suspended activities due to health concerns in January 2023 and subsequently departed from the group on July 28, 2023, leading to the group’s reorganization into a six-member formation. In 2024, Drippin released their fourth single album, “Beautiful Maze,” which achieved significant sales, breaking previous records, and their fifth single album, “Weekend,” further solidified their presence in the industry. Members Hyeop and Dongyun also participated in the Mnet survival show “Boys II Planet” in May 2025.
