About

Eisley, an American rock band from Tyler, Texas, was formed in 1997 by siblings Sherri DuPree, Chauntelle DuPree, Stacy DuPree, and Weston DuPree. Inspired by bands like The Beatles and Radiohead, the group, initially known as the Towheads, started as a house band at their parents’ venue, Brewtones Coffee Galaxy. This early exposure allowed them to perform alongside acts such as Ester Drang and Midlake. They later adopted the name Moss Eisley, a reference to a location in the Star Wars saga, which was eventually shortened to Eisley for legal reasons. The band’s parents actively supported their musical journey, providing a consistent venue and fostering their early development.

After establishing a presence on the Dallas music scene and garnering a fan base, Eisley signed with Warner Bros. Records in 2003. This year also marked a significant achievement, as they won “Best New Artist” at the Dallas Observer Music Awards. Their song “Telescope Eyes” from the *Laughing City* EP achieved early radio success, ranking among the top 25 most played songs on FM 102.1 in Dallas. In 2003, Eisley opened for Coldplay on the North American “A Rush of Blood to the Head” tour, expanding their audience. The band released their debut album, *Room Noises*, in 2005. They toured extensively with New Found Glory and embarked on their first headlining tour, The Summer Scenic Tour, with Lovedrug and Pilotdrift. Bassist Jonathan Wilson departed in 2005 and was replaced by their cousin, Garron DuPree, then fifteen years old.

Eisley continued to evolve, releasing their second album, *Combinations*, in 2007. This was followed by their national television debut on *Late Night with Conan O’Brien*, where they performed “Invasion.” The band toured with Mutemath and later headlined their own cross-continent tour in support of *Combinations*. After parting ways with Warner Bros. and Sire, Eisley signed with Equal Vision Records in 2010 and released *The Valley* in 2011. Subsequent albums include *Currents* (2013) and *I’m Only Dreaming* (2017). The band experienced lineup changes in 2015, with Chauntelle D’Agostino, Stacy King, and Weston DuPree departing, leaving Sherri DuPree-Bemis and Garron DuPree as the core members. Members of Eisley have also engaged in side projects like Perma and Sucré, and have made guest appearances on albums by Bright Eyes, New Found Glory, and Say Anything.
