Born Emily Joy Green in Torquay, Devon, England, Emmi experienced a transient childhood due to her father’s career as a pilot. Her family eventually settled in Warnbro, suburban Perth, Australia, for several years. At the age of 16, she moved to Sydney to pursue dance and acting studies. However, songwriting emerged as her primary passion, leading her to accumulate over 100 songs before securing a management deal and a music publishing contract. She initially co-wrote for artists such as Leona Lewis, Bridgit Mendler, and Little Nikki, demonstrating her skills in music composition before launching her own performance career.

Emmi debuted as a solo artist in 2015 with her single “My Kinda Swag.” This was quickly followed by “Sleep on It,” which received public endorsement from Taylor Swift on social media. Her third single, “60 Minutes,” was released that October. In late 2015, Emmi was featured on dance tracks including “Our Youth” by Sonny Alven and “Blind” by French producer Feder, the latter of which she also co-wrote and that reached the Top Five in France. The year 2016 saw the release of three more singles: “Up N Away,” “You Said You Loved Me,” and “Couldn’t Care Less.” A significant milestone occurred when she voiced the Goblin character and performed the song “Blind Pig” for the soundtrack of the film ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.’ Her song “Blind Pig” was shortlisted for the Best Original Song at the 2017 Academy Awards. In 2018, she released “Moments,” the first track from her ‘LOVERS’ concept playlist.
