Gabby Barrett

Gabby Bernadette Barrett, born on March 5, 2000, in Munhall, Pennsylvania, began singing at the age of nine and performing at eleven. In 2014, she won the Kean Quest Talent Search. At 14, influenced by her father, she joined the Lamb of God Christian Ministries group choir in Homestead, Pennsylvania. Barrett attended Serra Catholic High School and later transferred to online schooling at Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. Her early exposure to various musical environments laid the foundation for her career.

Barrett gained national recognition in 2018 when she finished third on the sixteenth season of “American Idol.” Following her appearance on the show, she independently released her debut single, “I Hope,” co-written by Jon Nite and Zachary Kale. The song garnered attention from music labels, leading to her signing with Warner Music Nashville in 2019. “I Hope” went on to top Billboard’s Country Streaming Songs chart and Country Airplay chart in April 2020. A version featuring Charlie Puth also reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first female country artist since Taylor Swift to achieve this milestone. Her debut album, “Goldmine,” released on June 19, 2020, set a record for the largest streaming week for a debut country album by a woman, earning 15.98 million on-demand streams in its opening week.

Her career has seen continued progression and notable achievements. In 2019, she opened for Toby Keith and Keith Urban. Between 2020 and 2021, “I Hope” remained number one on the Hot Country Songs chart for 25 weeks. In 2021, Barrett supported Thomas Rhett on his Center Point Road Tour and performed with the Zac Brown Band at Summerfest as part of their The Comeback Tour. She has also performed the national anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers and at the Daytona 500. In September 2021, she received four nominations for the 55th Annual Country Music Association Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year. In 2023, she released “Glory Days,” the lead single from her second studio album, “Chapter & Verse,” which was released in February 2024. Barrett is scheduled to make her acting debut in the 2025 film “Hurry Up Tomorrow.”
