Daniele Gaudi, known simply as Gaudi, is an influential Anglo-Italian musician, record producer, and solo artist based in London, specializing in a unique blend of dub music, electronica, reggae, and worldbeat. His career began in the early 1980s in Italy, where he played keyboard in underground bands and founded Raptus, one of the first Italian hip-hop acts. Gaudi’s innovative approach to music led to collaborations with notable acts like The Gang and Disciplinatha, establishing him as a key figure in the indie music scene.
In 1987, Gaudi launched his solo career under the name Lele Gaudì, releasing the first Raggamuffin album in Italian. His debut single, “Maliniconico Love,” achieved immediate success, earning him the title of “Italy’s Best New Coming Act” in 1991. His subsequent work, including collaborations with socially conscious artists, solidified his reputation in the music industry.
