Glen Templeton was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. His early musical experiences included performing with his late father, Dwight Templeton, a veteran and country music recording artist, in local VFW halls. This exposure cultivated his passion for music and led him to pursue a career in country music. He eventually moved to Nashville, Tennessee, a pivotal step in his professional journey.
Templeton’s career progressed with the release of his debut single, “I Could Be the One,” on April 19, 2011. This song, written by Jay Knowles and Thom McHugh, had previously been recorded by Billy Ray Cyrus. In July 2011, Templeton secured a record deal with Black River Entertainment. Concurrent with his single release, he also put out a self-titled extended play (EP) on June 6, 2011, which featured “I Could Be the One” and three additional tracks. The single achieved modest success, charting at number 58 and peaking at number 53 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in July 2011.
Further releases included two more singles, “Sing That Song Again” and “Ball Cap.” “Sing That Song Again” reached number 60 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The track “Ball Cap,” co-written by Cassidy Lynn Alexander, Forest Whitehead, and Dylan Scott, received rotation on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Templeton released two additional EPs during his career: “Let Her Go” on July 29, 2014, and “California” on January 18, 2019. In early 2015, Templeton and Black River Entertainment mutually ended their working relationship.
