Highly Suspect is an acclaimed American rock band that originated in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in 2009. The band, consisting of twin brothers Rich and Ryan Meyer, along with Johnny Stevens and Matt Kofos, began their journey as a cover band, performing popular songs in local bars. Their dedication to music led them to relocate to Brooklyn, New York, where they recorded their first EP, The Worst Humans, showcasing their original sound and setting the stage for their future success.
In 2015, Highly Suspect released their debut studio album, Mister Asylum, which garnered significant attention and acclaim. The album earned a nomination for Best Rock Album at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, with the single “Lydia” also receiving a nomination for Best Rock Song. This recognition marked a pivotal moment in their career, establishing them as a formidable force in the rock music scene.
The band’s subsequent albums, including The Boy Who Died Wolf and MCID, further solidified their reputation. The Boy Who Died Wolf featured the hit single “My Name Is Human,” which topped the Billboard US Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Their innovative approach to music, particularly in MCID, which incorporated elements of hip hop and pop, showcased their versatility and willingness to evolve.
Most recently, Highly Suspect released their fifth studio album, As Above, So Below, in July 2024, accompanied by a supporting tour.
