Indigo Sparke is a writer, mother, model, artist, and singer-songwriter. Born in Sydney, Australia, she now resides in the United States. Her musical style is characterized by a tender, melancholic quality, often described as drifting between shadow and light. Her stage name, Indigo Sparke, is derived from Duke Ellington’s “Mood Indigo,” which reflects the pensive and fluid nature of her work.
Sparke gained prominence with her debut album, *Echo*, released in 2021. This album, co-produced with Adrianne Lenker and Andrew Sarlo, was noted for its intimate and intense sound. Following this, in 2022, she released *Hysteria*, an album produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. This second album showcased a bolder sound, exploring themes of grief, rage, and resilience, and was also met with positive critical reception. Her music frequently features lyrics that are both impactful and comforting, demonstrating a sophisticated approach to songwriting.
