Lee Je-no, known professionally as Jeno, was born on April 23, 2000, in Incheon, South Korea. His career began in childhood as a commercial model, appearing in various advertisements across South Korea. At the age of thirteen, he was discovered by SM Entertainment, a major South Korean entertainment company. He was introduced as one of the initial members of SM Rookies, SM Entertainment’s pre-debut training team, on December 3, 2013. In 2014, he gained early exposure through the reality TV show ‘Exo 90:2014’ and further appeared as a Mouseketeer on Disney Channel Korea’s ‘The Mickey Mouse Club’ from July to December 2015.
Jeno officially debuted on August 24, 2016, as a member of NCT Dream, a sub-unit of the boy band NCT. He contributed to NCT’s first album, ‘NCT 2018 Empathy,’ with the single “Go.” Demonstrating career growth beyond performing, Jeno was selected as an MC for SBS MTV’s ‘The Show’ from May 2018 to November 2019. He also began writing lyrics for NCT Dream’s songs, starting with “Dear Dream” on their second EP ‘We Go Up’ in 2018, and has continued to contribute to subsequent albums. In 2019, Jeno represented K-pop artists at the “K-Wave & Halal Show” in Malaysia alongside President Moon Jae-in.
