John Jorgenson

John Jorgenson established his reputation as a formidable multi-instrumentalist with the Desert Rose Band, earning the Academy of Country Music’s ‘Guitarist of the Year’ award for three consecutive years. In 1993, Jorgenson co-founded the acclaimed guitar trio The Hellecasters with Will Ray and Jerry Donahue. Their debut album, ‘Return of the Hellecasters,’ released in 1993, garnered significant industry recognition, winning both ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Country Album of the Year’ from Guitar Player magazine. The trio went on to release several more albums throughout the 1990s.

Beyond these notable achievements, his extensive career includes recording and touring with a diverse range of prominent artists, such as Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Barbra Streisand, and Bonnie Raitt, solidifying his status as a sought-after collaborator across genres and continuing his influence on multiple musical fronts. Today, Jorgenson continues to be a highly respected figure in the music community, known for his command of instruments including guitar, mandolin, mandocello, Dobro, pedal steel guitar, piano, upright bass, clarinet, bassoon, and saxophone. He lends his expertise as a patron for Guitar-X in London, where he conducts master classes, and also supports Le QuecumBar, a dedicated London venue celebrating Gypsy swing. His ongoing contributions reflect a lifelong commitment to musical excellence and education.
