Kojaque

Kevin Smith, known by his stage name Kojaque, is one of Ireland’s most talented rappers, record producers, visual artists, and filmmakers. Born and raised in the vibrant neighborhood of Cabra in Dublin, Kevin was drawn to music and storytelling from a young age. As a teenager, he started writing rhymes and creating beats as a way to express his thoughts and emotions.

In 2015, Kevin Smith co-founded Soft Boy, a collective of creative musicians, visual artists, and poets that aims to redefine hip-hop and challenge the status quo. Since then, Kojaque has released several critically acclaimed EPs and albums, including “Deli Daydreams” and “Dawn/Knight.”

Kojaque is known for his unique style of storytelling, which blends vivid imagery, social commentary, and personal anecdotes with smooth flows and infectious beats. His lyrics often touch upon themes like love, fear, identity, and social justice, and draw inspiration from his everyday experiences and the world around him.

Aside from his musical prowess, Kojaque is also a talented visual artist and filmmaker. He has directed and starred in several music videos, short films, and documentaries that explore the intersection of art, culture, and politics. In 2018, he launched a multimedia project called “Palm Wine Club,” which combines music, painting, and storytelling to celebrate the Black diaspora and challenge racist stereotypes.

Kojaque’s unique talent and unapologetic voice have earned him a loyal following both in Ireland and abroad. He has performed at festivals like Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit, and Longitude, and has collaborated with artists like Luka Palm, Kean Kavanagh, and Saint Sister. With his artistic versatility and uncompromising spirit, Kojaque is poised to become one of the leading voices of Irish music and culture in the years to come.
