Lola Amour, a vibrant Filipino rock band hailing from the bustling streets of Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, emerged onto the music scene in 2013, igniting stages with their eclectic fusion of modern rock, funk, and pop melodies. At the heart of their sonic concoction is a group of talented musicians whose synergy electrifies audiences worldwide.
Led by the dynamic Pio Dumayas, whose soulful vocals and rhythmic guitar set the stage ablaze, Lola Amour boasts a lineup of musical virtuosos. David Yuhico’s keyboard wizardry adds layers of depth to their sound, while the multi-talented Manu Dumayas weaves intricate basslines, resonant trumpets, and harmonious backing vocals. Zoe Gonzales’ lead guitar prowess adds an edge to their melodies, complemented by Angelo Mesina’s brass brilliance on trumpets, Jeff Abueg’s saxophone flair, and Raffy Perez’s pulsating rhythms on drums.
The band’s inception traces back to the convergence of two rival groups, “Sinigang Na Baboy” and “Decaf,” whose members found common ground in their passion for music during their formative years at De La Salle Santiago Zobel School. United by friendship and fueled by a shared musical vision, they merged into what would become Lola Amour.
Their journey culminated in the release of their self-titled debut studio album on April 10, 2024, a sonic tapestry weaving together nine tracks that capture the essence of their collective spirit. From the infectious rhythms of “Raining in Manila” to the heartfelt nostalgia of “Namimiss Ko Na,” Lola Amour’s music transcends boundaries, resonating with audiences and leaving an indelible mark on the Filipino music scene.
