Lovelytheband, an alternative trio, was formed in 2016 in Los Angeles. The band has developed a musical style that integrates indie-pop and rock, characterized by relatable lyrical content. Their work has garnered wide recognition, leading to a significant listenership. The lead vocalist, Mitchy Collins, had prior success as a songwriter, contributing to songs such as Hilary Duff’s “Picture This” in 2015 and 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Ghost of You” in 2018, demonstrating his established experience in the music industry.
The band’s single “Broken” achieved double-Platinum status and reached the top position on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart. This track also marked their first entry into the Hot 100 in 2018. Lovelytheband maintained a presence on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart for 100 weeks, peaking at No. 1 in 2018. Their 2018 album, “Finding it Hard to Smile,” reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. This album included the song “These Are My Friends,” which charted at No. 10 on the Alternative chart.
In 2019, Lovelytheband received two Billboard Music Award nominations and three iHeartRadio Music Award nominations.
