Ludo is an alternative rock band hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, known for their energetic performances and imaginative songwriting. Formed in the early 2000s, the band initially gained traction with their self-titled debut album released in 2003, which showcased their unique sound and included local hits like “Hum Along.” Their early years were marked by extensive touring with other Midwestern bands, establishing a solid fan base and earning a reputation as an exciting live act.
In 2005, Ludo released the EP “Broken Bride,” a rock opera that captivated audiences with its narrative depth and theatricality. This project not only solidified their status in the indie music scene but also led to several stage adaptations by colleges and schools, demonstrating the band’s influence beyond just music. Their growing popularity caught the attention of major labels, culminating in a five-album deal with Island Records in 2006.
Ludo’s major label debut, “You’re Awful, I Love You,” released in 2008, featured the hit single “Love Me Dead,” which became a fan favorite and received significant media exposure, including a performance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” The band continued to tour extensively, participating in renowned festivals like Warped Tour and Lollapalooza, further expanding their reach and impact in the music industry.
After a hiatus, Ludo made a triumphant return in 2018 with a sold-out reunion show, reigniting their connection with fans. Since then, they have consistently performed and released new music, including the 2020 single “Scare Me.” Their ongoing commitment to creativity and engagement with their audience ensures that Ludo remains a vibrant force in the alternative rock scene.
