Maceo Plex, the stage name of Eric Estornel, is a prominent American DJ and techno music producer known for his innovative and eclectic sound. Raised in Dallas and Miami, he began his musical journey at a young age, initially gaining recognition under the alias Eric Entity. His early career saw him supporting notable acts like Green Velvet, which laid the groundwork for his future success. Transitioning to the Maetrik moniker, he established himself in the techno scene throughout the 2000s, but it was the adoption of the Maceo Plex name that propelled him to international stardom.

In 2010, Maceo Plex released his debut album, “Life Index,” through Crosstown Rebels, marking a significant milestone in his career. His unique blend of house and techno resonated with audiences, leading to a series of successful singles that defined the early 2010s. His residency at Ibiza’s Pacha, Mosaic by Maceo, further solidified his status as a leading figure in the electronic music scene, showcasing a diverse lineup of artists and pushing the boundaries of traditional club music.

Maceo Plex’s creativity continued to flourish with the release of his concept album “Solar” in 2017, which explored deeper emotional connections through ambient electronica and breakbeats. His subsequent projects, including the “Mutant Series” and remixes for iconic tracks like Faithless’ “Insomnia,” demonstrate his ability to evolve while maintaining a strong connection to his roots.

Currently based in Barcelona, Maceo Plex is preparing for the release of his upcoming album “93,” which celebrates his 30-year journey in music.
