Mica Paris

Mica Paris is a renowned British singer, presenter, and actress, recognized for her significant contributions to music, television, and theatre since her debut in 1988. After launching her solo career in 1988, Mica Paris released her platinum-selling debut album ‘So Good’ through 4th & Broadway, featuring the international hit ‘My One Temptation’ and a successful collaboration with American soul singer Will Downing on ‘Where Is the Love.’ Earlier, Paris began her musical journey as a regular performer with The Spirit Of Watts gospel choir, appearing on their 1985 EP ‘Gospel Joy,’ and served as a backing vocalist for Hollywood Beyond on their 1985 album ‘If.’ She continued her success with the 1990 album ‘Contribution,’ which notably included ‘If I Love U 2 Nite,’ a track written by Prince, and appeared on the seminal ‘Nelson Mandela: An International Tribute for a Free South Africa’ album alongside Anita Baker, Bonnie Raitt, and Natalie Cole. Paris expanded her diverse musical range, collaborating with Courtney Pine on ‘Redemption Song’ (1992) and Stereo MCs on ‘Don’t Let Up’ (1992), while also providing the title track to Isaac Julien’s 1991 ‘Young Soul Rebels’ movie soundtrack. She released further studio albums including ‘Whisper a Prayer’ (1993), ‘Black Angel’ (1998), ‘If You Could Love Me’ (2005), ‘Soul Classics’ (2005), and ‘Born Again’ (2009).

Her iconic vocal talent was showcased in 2022 when she performed at the Platinum Party at the Palace for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. Most recently, in 2023, Paris was featured on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Woman’s Hour’ and the Sky Arts show ‘A Gospel Christmas’. An active philanthropist, she serves as an Ambassador for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, and has supported the ‘No Means No’ anti-rape and gender equality campaign, as well as previously acting as an ambassador for the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Trident.
