About

Queen Naija Bulls, born on October 17, 1995, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, began her public career as a YouTube vlogger before transitioning into music. Her initial foray into the entertainment industry included an appearance on the thirteenth season of American Idol in 2014, where she reached the Hollywood round. Following her Idol experience, she focused on building her YouTube platform, which became a significant factor in her later musical success. This early engagement with a digital audience laid the groundwork for her distinctive approach to connecting with fans, directly influencing her subsequent rise in the music world.

Her musical breakthrough arrived in December 2017 with the release of her single “Medicine,” which quickly gained popularity, peaking within the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100. The success of “Medicine,” which later earned a double platinum certification from the RIAA, led to her signing with Capitol Records in April 2018. She followed this with other successful singles, “Karma” and “Butterflies,” both of which also achieved double platinum status. These tracks were featured on her self-titled debut extended play (EP), released in July 2018, which reached number 26 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Apple Music R&B charts, marking a significant milestone in her emerging music career. The EP outlined an emotional journey through songs addressing themes of heartbreak, motherhood, and new love.

Queen Naija’s debut studio album, “Missunderstood,” released in October 2020, further solidified her position in the R&B genre, peaking at number nine on the Billboard 200. The album featured collaborations with artists such as Lil Durk, Jacquees, and Ari Lennox, with several singles achieving Gold certification by the RIAA. In 2021, “Missunderstood” received a nomination at the American Music Awards for Favorite R&B Album. She embarked on her second tour, the mini Butterfly Tour, across 19 US cities in October 2021, demonstrating her sustained growth and engagement with her fanbase. Her most recent notable release is the single “Hate Our Love” with Big Sean in 2022, which reached number 88 on the Billboard Hot 100.
