Miike Snow

Miike Snow is a Swedish indie pop band known for impacting music with their innovative sound and songwriting. After achieving a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’ and producing for artists including Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Kelis, Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg formed Miike Snow in Stockholm in 2007 with American vocalist Andrew Wyatt. The band released their eponymous debut album, Miike Snow, in 2009 through Downtown Records, garnering favorable reviews from music critics. The album featured key singles ‘Animal’ and ‘Black & Blue,’ both making a moderate impact on charts in Belgium and the United Kingdom, with ‘Animal’ notably achieving platinum certification in the United States.

Its lead single, ‘Paddling Out,’ became a top-40 hit in the Netherlands. Following extensive touring commitments in 2012, the band members pursued individual projects, with Wyatt releasing a solo album, Karlsson forming Galantis, and Winnberg releasing an album with Amason, further demonstrating their diverse musical talents. The trio reunited in 2014, leading to their highly anticipated third studio album, iii, released in 2016. This album continued their critical and commercial success, charting in the top 50 in Australia, Canada, Sweden, and the US.

The album’s second single, ‘Genghis Khan,’ became a top-ten hit on the American Alternative Songs chart and was certified gold in Canada, showcasing its widespread appeal and solidifying its place in the indie pop landscape. Miike Snow’s distinctive music has also been prominently featured across various media, including the FIFA 13 soundtrack and a US Budweiser advertisement. The band has consistently delivered impactful live performances, appearing at renowned music festivals globally such as Coachella and Lollapalooza. Through their innovative sound and acclaimed songwriting, Miike Snow continues to leave a lasting mark, celebrated for their unique blend of electronic and pop sensibilities.
