Tysen Jay Bolding, professionally known as Money Man, was born in The Bronx, New York City, and later established his career in Atlanta, Georgia. Money Man initiated his musical journey with the release of the “Black Circle” mixtape in January 2016. This was followed by “Black Circle 2” and “Black Circle Friday” later that same year, contributing to the development of his independent fan base. His early work gained traction through popular songs such as “Boss Up” and “How It Feel” in 2016.
In 2017, Money Man signed with Cash Money Records and Republic Records, releasing mixtapes including “Secret Society,” “Harvest Season,” and “Grow God.” However, he independently bought out his contract in 2018. Following this, he signed with Empire Distribution, releasing multiple mixtapes including “Paranoia” in 2019, which reached number 36 on the Billboard 200 chart. His collaboration “Long Money” with Peewee Longway also charted at number 45 in 2019. In 2020, his single “24,” inspired by Kobe Bryant, peaked at number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100, and a remix featuring Lil Baby was released. This success contributed to his eighteenth mixtape, “Epidemic,” which achieved Gold certification by the RIAA. His mixtape “Red Eye” in 2023 marked his highest-charting entry on the Billboard 200, reaching number 93.
Money Man has demonstrated a consistent release schedule and a strategic approach to his career, including his notable venture into cryptocurrency, which influenced his 2021 album “Blockchain.” He continues to release new music, including “Purple Heart” in 2024 and “Insomnia” scheduled for 2025, maintaining his presence in the hip-hop and trap genres.
