Ms Mr

Ms Mr, an American pop duo, was formed by vocalist Lizzy Plapinger and producer Max Hershenow. Both members graduated from Vassar College in 2010. The duo immediately began collaborating, releasing a four-song digital demo EP titled “Ghost City USA” in 2011. This initial release set the foundation for their emergence into the music scene. In 2012, they released two singles, “Hurricane” and “Fantasy.” The music video for “Hurricane” was released on April 26, 2012, and the single became available on iTunes on July 10, 2012. “Hurricane” achieved commercial success, charting at number 38 in Germany. The song was also a part of their debut EP, “Candy Bar Creep Show,” which was released on September 14, 2012, featuring four tracks including “Bones” and “Dark Doo Wop.”

Their debut album, “Secondhand Rapture,” was released on May 10, 2013, incorporating all tracks from their previous EP. Following the success of their debut, Ms Mr released their second album, “How Does It Feel,” on July 17, 2015. The band maintained an active touring schedule throughout 2016. In January 2017, Ms Mr announced a hiatus, allowing Lizzy Plapinger to pursue her solo project, LPX. In a recent development on August 7, 2023, the duo announced a final single, “Saturn Return,” to be released on September 6, solidifying this as their last musical contribution as Ms Mr. Plapinger is also recognized for co-founding Neon Gold Records, an independent record label based in New York City and London, which has been instrumental in launching the careers of artists such as Haim and Ellie Goulding.
