MxPx is an influential American punk rock band formed in 1992 in Bremerton, Washington. Originally named Magnified Plaid, the band quickly gained recognition for their energetic sound and catchy melodies. Their debut album, “Pokinatcha,” released in 1994, showcased their raw punk style and established them as a prominent act in the Christian punk scene. Following this success, MxPx released two more albums under Tooth & Nail Records, including the critically acclaimed “Life in General,” which featured the hit single “Chick Magnet.”
In 1997, MxPx signed with A&M Records, marking a significant milestone in their career. This partnership led to the re-release of “Life in General” and the release of their gold-certified album “Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo” in 1998. The band gained further acclaim with their live album “At the Show” and the studio album “The Ever Passing Moment,” which included the radio hit “Responsibility.” Their participation in the Vans Warped Tour solidified their status as a leading punk band of the era.
After a brief hiatus from major labels, MxPx returned to their DIY roots, launching their own label, Rock City Recording Company. They released the album “Secret Weapon” in 2007 and continued to innovate with projects like the Christmas album “Punk Rawk Christmas” and the documentary “Both Ends Burning.” Their 2018 self-titled album marked a triumphant return, showcasing their evolution while staying true to their punk roots.
Most recently, MxPx released their album “Find A Way Home” in 2023, further demonstrating their enduring relevance in the punk rock genre. With a discography that includes twelve studio albums and numerous singles, MxPx continues to inspire fans with their dynamic performances and commitment to their craft.
