About

Noah Reid was born in Toronto, Ontario, in May 1987. He began his performance career at eight years old, playing Chip in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” in Toronto. His early work also included extensive voice-over roles for Canadian and American children’s television, notably as the original voice of Franklin the Turtle from 1997 to 2002. Reid continued his theatrical education, graduating from the Etobicoke School of the Arts and the National Theatre School of Canada. His early acting credits include Marshall Wheeler in “Strange Days at Blake Holsey High” (2002–2006) and Darrell Fox in the 2005 television film “Terry.” He also took on guest roles in series like “Naturally, Sadie” (2007) and “Degrassi: The Next Generation” (2009).

Reid’s acting career progressed with a leading film role as Farley Gordon in “Score: A Hockey Musical,” which premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. He appeared in various television series, including “Rookie Blue” (2012) and “Cracked” (2013), and starred in the ABC Family comedy “Kevin From Work” (2015). A significant turning point in his career came with the role of Patrick Brewer in the CBC series “Schitt’s Creek,” beginning as a recurring character in 2017 and becoming a series regular. This role brought him widespread recognition and a Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy in 2019. Concurrent with his acting, Reid is also a musician, releasing his debut album, “Songs From a Broken Chair,” in 2016.

His musical success grew, especially after his acoustic cover of Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best” on “Schitt’s Creek” in 2018, which reached the Top 10 on iTunes Canada. He released his second album, “Gemini,” in 2020 and his third, “Adjustments,” in 2022. In 2022, Reid made his Broadway debut in Tracy Letts’s “The Minutes” at Studio 54. He continued his acting work with a main cast role in “Outer Range” (2022–2024) and an appearance in “Murder in a Small Town” (2024). Reid also maintains a strong connection to theatre, performing in productions such as “Hamlet” (2018) at the Tarragon Theatre and “A Case for the Existence of God” (2024) at the Coal Mine Theatre. He plans several tours in 2023 and 2025, demonstrating his commitment to both his acting and music careers.
