Alaska 5000

Justin Andrew Honard, known as Alaska Thunderfuck 5000, was born on March 6, 1985, in Erie, Pennsylvania. He developed his drag persona, “Alaska,” after moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He performed as Alaska at the West Hollywood club Fubar and in Trannyshack shows, establishing his presence in the drag community. In 2010, he returned to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and, with Sharon Needles and Cherri Baum, formed the band Haus of Haunt, which later became a drag troupe. He had prior experience in theater and has used those skills in his drag career.

Alaska gained widespread recognition as a contestant on the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2013, where he was a runner-up. He later became the winner of the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars in 2016. In addition to television appearances, Alaska has released four studio albums: “Anus” (2015), “Poundcake” (2016), “Vagina” (2019), and “Red 4 Filth” (2022). He is also a member of The AAA Girls, a drag music group, and co-hosts the podcast “Race Chaser” with Willam Belli. His career includes roles in film and television, and he authored the memoir “My Name’s Yours, What’s Alaska?: A Memoir” in 2021.

Beyond performance, Alaska has expanded his work to include production, serving as an executive producer for various podcast series such as “Hi Jinkx! with Jinkx Monsoon” and “Sissy That Talk Show with Joseph Shepherd.” He also produces music videos and has been involved in stage productions like “The Rocky Horror Show.” His consistent career progression and diverse engagements across entertainment platforms highlight his sustained relevance and creative output.
