Nubya Garcia is a distinguished British jazz musician, composer, and bandleader whose innovative approach has made significant waves in the contemporary jazz scene. She began her musical journey at the tender age of five, learning the violin and viola, and later transitioned to the saxophone. Garcia’s early education included participation in the London Schools Symphony Orchestra and the Camden Jazz Band, where she honed her skills under the guidance of notable mentors.

In 2017, Garcia released her debut EP, *Nubya’s 5ive*, which showcased her unique sound and garnered attention at prestigious events like Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival. Her 2018 EP, *When We Are*, further demonstrated her ability to blend electronic elements with live jazz, earning her the Steve Reid InNOVAtion Award. Continuing her artistic evolution, Garcia is set to release her third album, *Odyssey*, in September 2024.
