United States Orbit Culture is a Swedish melodic death metal band known for their powerful sound and consistent touring.
Orbit Culture signed a deal with Century Media Records in January 2024. This partnership marks a significant step for the Swedish powerhouse as they transition to a new label and begin touring extensively.
Orbit Culture previously had contractual obligations with Seek & Strike Records, under which some of their albums and singles were released. The band announced in December 2023 that they had fulfilled their contract and would not be working with the label on future projects.
United Talent Agency became Orbit Culture's booking agency worldwide on September 27, 2021, handling their tour arrangements and live performance opportunities.
Orbit Culture was founded in Eksjö, Sweden, in 2013 by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Niklas Karlsson and former guitarist Maximilian Zinsmeister. They met through mutual friends at 17 and started a small group, practicing in an old power plant. Maximilian brought in drummer Markus Bladh, and Christoffer Olsson later joined on bass. Their debut EP, “Odyssey,” was recorded, mixed, and produced during the summer of 2013, gaining local attention and leading to their first hometown performances. A remastered version of “Odyssey” was released in December of the same year with new artwork and instrumental tracks. Following positive reception, the band released their first full-length album, “In Medias Res,” on July 23, 2014, including a music video for “Obscurity” in October.
After promoting “In Medias Res” through live shows, Zinsmeister departed in 2016 to focus on academic studies. The band then released their second full-length album, “Rasen,” on March 11, 2016. The music video for “Sun of All,” released in August 2016, amassed over a million YouTube views, increasing their visibility within the underground metal community. Olsson also left in late 2016 for academic reasons. Fredrik Lennartsson joined as bassist, and Richard Hansson came in as lead guitarist. In 2018, Orbit Culture released the “Redfog” EP, featuring singles “Saw,” “See Through Me,” and the title track, all achieving commercial success with over a million listens each on various streaming platforms. Markus Bladh departed in 2019 due to time commitments, and Christopher Wallerstedt joined as the new drummer. In 2019, their booking agent, Avocado Booking, arranged their first tour, performing outside Sweden for the first time in Berlin.
Orbit Culture continued to release music, including the singles “Nensha,” “Rebirth,” and “The Shadowing” in 2019 and 2020, culminating in the release of the album “Nija” on August 7, 2020. This album received many positive reviews and a deluxe edition followed in January 2021. Their third EP, “Shaman,” was released on September 24, 2021. In 2023, the band released the album “Descent,” followed by the three-song EP “The Forgotten” in December of the same year. In January 2024, Orbit Culture announced their signing with Century Media Records after fulfilling their contract with Seek & Strike Records. Their fifth studio album, “Death Above Life,” was released in October 2025.
