Orleans, the American pop rock band behind iconic 70s hits ‘Still The One,’ ‘Dance With Me,’ and ‘Love Takes Time,’ has released over 17 albums across a career spanning five decades. Formed in 1972 by John Hall, Larry Hoppen, and Wells Kelly, the band gained a strong following through touring before signing with ABC Dunhill Records for their 1973 self-titled debut. A new contract with Asylum Records led to their 1975 album ‘Let There Be Music,’ producing the Billboard Hot 100 charting single of the same name (No. 55).

These three hits have amassed over 10 million airings collectively. Following their initial breakthrough, guitarist and songwriter John Hall departed in June 1977. The band, with a new lineup including Robert Martin and Bob Leinbach, signed with Infinity Records, releasing ‘Forever’ in April 1979, which featured the hit ‘Love Takes Time’ (No. 11 on the pop charts).

The early 1980s saw Orleans navigate Infinity Records’ bankruptcy and subsequent financial difficulties with MCA Records (1980’s ‘Orleans’) and Radio Records (1982’s ‘One of a Kind’), impacting visibility. In 1984, after the passing of original drummer Wells Kelly, John Hall reunited with Larry and Lance Hoppen to record ‘Grown Up Children’ (1986). Throughout the 1990s, Orleans continued to tour and release albums, including ‘Orleans Live’ in Japan (1991), a performance at Woodstock 94 (1994), and ‘Analog Men’ (1994) for the Japanese market. In the 2000s, Orleans reunited for performances in 2001, releasing ‘Dancin’ in the Moonlight’ in 2005.
