OTHERWISE, an American hard rock band, originated in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2003. Founded by brothers Adrian and Ryan Patrick, the band quickly gained recognition in the local music scene. They released their self-titled debut album in 2006 as an independent act. This initial release provided 11 tracks and marked their entry into the hard rock and heavy metal genres. The band’s early career involved extensive touring, establishing their reputation for captivating live shows.
In 2012, OTHERWISE signed with Century Media Records and released their album “True Love Never Dies.” This album featured popular anthems such as “Soldiers” and “Die for You,” significantly increasing their public profile. The single “Soldiers” achieved RIAA Gold certification and was the first song by an unsigned artist to reach No. 1 on Sirius XM Octane. They continued to release music under Century Media, including “Peace at All Costs” in 2014 and “Sleeping Lions” in 2017. “Peace at All Costs” reached number 49 on the Billboard 200, number 10 on the Independent Albums chart, and number 5 on the Top Rock Albums chart. “Sleeping Lions” was noted by the Las Vegas Review Journal as their strongest album to date.
In 2018, OTHERWISE partnered with Mascot Records, a move that coincided with the release of their fifth studio album, “Defy,” in 2019. This collaboration furthered their reach and allowed for new musical directions, including a focus on their acoustic capabilities with EPs like “From the Roots, Volumes 1 & 2.” Their current lineup includes Adrian Patrick (lead vocals), Ryan Patrick (lead guitar, backing vocals), Joe Conner (drums), and Sean Fitz (bass). The band continues to record and tour, with their latest album “Gawdzillionaire” released in 2023, and new single releases in 2024 and 2025.
