Peter Hollens is an entrepreneur and classically trained vocalist, recognized for his extensive work in a cappella music and his significant online presence. After co-founding the University of Oregon’s a cappella group, On The Rocks, with Leo da Silva in 1999the first official collegiate a cappella group in OregonPeter Hollens emerged as an acclaimed entrepreneur and classically trained vocalist. A Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance graduate, Hollens expanded his collegiate a cappella involvement by recording, producing, and judging competitions across the U.S. In 2010, he gained wider recognition on NBC’s ‘The Sing Off’ with On The Rocks; his solo performances earned acclaim, and the group reached 6th place.
He consults for companies like Patreon, Loudr, and Tubular, sharing insights on the digital music landscape. In 2015, he delivered the commencement speech at the University of Oregon, and in 2016, advocated for music education before the U.S. Congress. Expanding his discography, Hollens released Misty Mountains: Songs Inspired by The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings and A Hollens Family Christmas in 2016, followed by his Broadway debut in ‘Home For the Holidays, Live on Broadway’ and Covers Vol.
