Portugal. The Man

Portugal. The Man achieved widespread international acclaim with their eighth studio album, Woodstock (2017), and its multi-platinum lead single ‘Feel It Still.’ The track topped multiple Billboard charts, including Alternative Songs, Hot 100 Airplay, and Pop Songs in 2017, culminating in a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2018. Formed in 2004, the band established a prolific output, releasing their debut Waiter: ‘You Vultures!’ in 2006 under Fearless Records, followed by Church Mouth in 2007. Transitioning to their independent label, Approaching AIRballoons (with Equal Vision Records), they released Censored Colors (2008), The Satanic Satanist (2009), and American Ghetto (2010).

Frontman John Gourley was recognized as ‘Best Vocalist of the Year’ by Alternative Press in 2008, and the band performed at major festivals like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza in 2009. In 2010, Portugal. The Man signed with Atlantic Records, a significant career milestone. This partnership yielded their sixth studio album, In the Mountain In the Cloud (2011), coinciding with the premiere of their music video short film Sleep Forever.

Beyond musical achievements, Portugal. The Man consistently leverages their platform for social and environmental causes. In 2014, they launched the ‘Endangered Song’ project with the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, raising awareness for the Sumatran tiger. Their philanthropic work extends to supporting the Mr.

The Man released Oregon City Sessions and contributed ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ to The Metallica Blacklist. Their most recent studio album, Chris Black Changed My Life, was released in 2023. The band is set to release their highly anticipated album, Shish, in 2025.
